In the world in which we live, there are few movies that capture my life, my reality like Cinderella. I have always felt an attraction to this movie because I feel a sort of, kinship with the main character. She embraces the chances of a bright future while making her step- sisters more "beautiful", shining the floor, or other servant tasks in her own home. I think that this is the drive in all of us that brings us hope in the darkest night. It is this fairy tale reality that we grip and hold onto until as we endure life. It is this hope for tomorrow that makes me say, Someday I will have the chance to be the main attraction at a ball. Someday the fairy-god-mother will turn me into an instant princess.
I have spent my life hanging onto the dreams of a prince walking across the floor gracefully, but quickly, to meet me and sweep me off my feet, into "happily ever after." The sound of that brings chills up and down my back. Not chills of fear or temperature. But the chills of dreams and hope, a hope brighter than reality, brighter than an endless tunnel of life.
